Ľuboslav FARKAŠ
Candidate for mayor of Senec

Why I’m Running for Mayor
New Energy for Senec: No strings attached, with a clear vision
Senec has more to offer than just being a place to stay overnight in Bratislava.
My name is Ľuboslav Farkaš, M.A.
Almost ten years ago, I chose Senec as my home. The very fact that I haven’t lived here for decades is what I consider my greatest advantage. I’m not part of the old structures, I’m not entangled in complicated local relationships, and I don’t owe anyone a “favor.”
My sole priority is you—the residents of Senec. Together with a team of experts, I am here with the goal of transforming our stagnant “satellite town” into a modern, vibrant city that is full of life and where things finally work for the people.
What are the pillars of my vision for a high quality of life in the city?
For me and my team, urban development isn’t just about cosmetic changes. It’s about taking a comprehensive approach to the environment where we live, raise our children, and build relationships:
- Transportation and Infrastructure: No more endless traffic jams and broken roads. We need smart transportation solutions that do not prioritize transit over the comfort and safety of Senec residents.
- Education and Family: Our children need modern schools and preschools with sufficient capacity. The city must be a safe and inspiring haven for every family.
- Accessible Healthcare: I will actively advocate for the expansion of specialized clinics and improved access to doctors right here in Senec, so that we won’t have to travel elsewhere for care.
- Services and a vibrant city: We will support local businesses so that Senec can offer high-quality dining, culture, and services, eliminating the need for you to travel to other cities.
- Green public spaces: Revitalizing parks, squares, and areas around lakes. I want a city that is clean and green, where public spaces serve as places for people to gather and relax.
- A Fair and Open City Hall: Decision-making will not take place behind closed doors. I promise transparent governance, where every resident’s voice truly counts.
Why now?
Senec needs a bold fresh start and leadership with a broad perspective. Our city has enormous potential, yet it seems to have become stuck in its old ways. I offer you my experience, a clean slate, and a commitment to working for results, not for office. The 2026 municipal elections are the best opportunity for change for the better.
I moved here because I fell in love with Senec. I’m running for office because I want us all to love it. Let’s work together to build a city where we don’t just sleep, but where we truly live.

Get to know me better
A life dedicated to serving people, family, and the city
I am 45 years old, and until 2020 I served as a chaplain for the Fire and Rescue Corps. After leaving the clergy, I began devoting myself full-time to the family business, which now operates nationwide. I got married in 2022 and have two children, ages 2 and 4. After graduating from college, I taught English and religion at elementary and secondary schools for 6 years while working as a chaplain.
I speak English fluently and have a decent command of German and Hungarian. For years, I volunteered working with the deaf, and as a result, I am proficient in sign language.
My entire life has been guided by a single, natural thread—serving people in times of need. I didn’t come to Senec nine years ago to get into politics. I came here to live, work, and share the experience of someone who knows how to stay calm when the stakes are high.

Support from family and the community
I am a husband and father of two children. It is my family that reminds me every day of what truly matters in life. I want my son and daughter to grow up in a city that is safe, well-maintained, modern, and full of opportunities. As a parent, I am very attuned to how our kindergartens, playgrounds, and public spaces function.
My candidacy for mayor of Senec is therefore not just a public decision. It is also a personal commitment—to help make our city a good home for families, children, and seniors.

From spiritual ministry to saving lives
My journey in public service began with people who needed support, understanding, and help. I served as a priest for sixteen years, part of that time as a chaplain to victims of disasters. This experience taught me to listen without prejudice, to be humble, and to recognize that true help begins with humanity and honesty.

Later, life led me to an even more direct form of helping others—working for the Fire and Rescue Service. For nine years, I served as a professional firefighter and paramedic, responding to situations where every second counted, and where expertise and the ability to work together were crucial. For saving the life of an eight-year-old girl, I received the “Heart of the Roads” award.
Even today, I remain actively involved in safety issues—as a member of the SaS (Freedom and Solidarity) party State Council and a volunteer firefighter.

Real-world experience, not just office work
Today, I run a business in the field of road safety and dedicate myself to helping victims of traffic accidents. My professional journey—from teacher, through spiritual ministry, to paramedic and safety expert—has taught me one important thing:
that in critical moments, empty phrases are not enough. What is needed is experience, composure, responsibility, and the ability to find solutions.

These are precisely the values I want to bring to the city administration: with a clean slate, free of behind-the-scenes commitments, with respect for people, and with a sincere desire to work for Senec.
Being a friend to those in need is not just a cliché. It is a way of life that requires discipline and
character. I am entering politics in Senec as a father, a professional, and a citizen who wants only the best for our shared city.
